I'm Samantha!
In March 2019, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at age 22. I then completed 13 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 lumpectomies, 38 rounds of radiation, and 2 years of targeted therapy and hormone therapy. I was "no evidence of disease" for 4 years before I had a reoccurrence in August 2023. This time, the cancer spread to multiple places throughout my spine and pelvis and ended up fracturing a vertebrae in my back. I had surgery to stabilize my spine, 3 rounds of radiation to that vertebrae, and now I am back on hormone/targeted therapy to hopefully kill the rest of the cancer in my body!
Cancer does not discriminate based on age, health, or gender. It can happen to anyone and I believe it's important to spread awareness, especially to young women. My goal is to bring hope and comfort to others dealing with a cancer diagnosis by sharing my story and living life to the fullest.

Most Pain I've Ever Been In (Cancer Broke Back) | Spinal Fusion Surgery Story (Part 2)
Here's the second half of the story of my back surgery. After metastasized cancer fractured a vertebrae in my spine, I was in some of the worst pain I've ever experienced. I needed surgery to help stabilize my back, and the recovery was long and painful. Altogether, this was the most pain I've ever been in in my life.

When my breast cancer metastasized to my spine and pelvis, it fractured a vertebrae in my back. I needed spinal fusion surgery to be able to walk and do normal activities again. The hardest part about going to the hospital for back surgery was leaving my 8 month old breastfed baby. The intense pain was also difficult lol. Breast Cancer Terms You Should Know | Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Holy crap someone said the same kind of thing to me but with the opposite intention. I always had long super wavy hair. My hair was growing back and someone said “Oh I see you finally cut off that ridiculous mop you’ve always had! What a great change!” 🥹
Wow! That person needs a lesson!
Having a kid knowing your cancer will probably come back is very selfish. Your child will likely grow up motherless.
I can’t believe that someone said that. You are beautiful and totally cute in short hair. That’s why I wore beanies in winter and now summer hats, afraid of people’s opinions that I am not asking about.
I think it’s cute on you! 👍💝💞💕
People are so dumb. It took mine like 6 months to grow back.
Your hair is beautiful 🩵 don’t let other people tell you otherwise!
I happen to think you look adorable
Thanks for sharing your journey with us🙏🏻💖
I just do not understand the ignorance of some people! Samantha… I love this video! I applaud your humour and your dignity. You are beautiful, always have been and always will be 💖🥰
Jeez, what avstupid comment! Some people are so rude. You look adorable with short hair!
Hahaha! Some people.. I have no words
When you put yourself before the whole world you become a target of the "stupid" people. "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience" Mark Twain
I'm waiting to lose mine over the next week or two. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Your videos have been so helpful, and you seem like such an amazing, beautiful, and kind person ♡
Hope treatment is going well!
I can't believe someone actually had the nerve to message this to you. No apologizes!
Good answer! 😂
Trolls are so rude!
People that have never experienced this have no idea and don't realize how long your hair can actually take to grow back. They should apologize not you.
Prayers for you 🙏🏻 ❤️
Lumpectomies are easier but then one needs radiation typically - which can be a whole different deal. Everyone has a different path. I just had to make these decisions ... 14 specialists & 4 hospitals later, I got a double mstx & reconstruction to immediate implant requiring sleeping on my back sitting up for 8 wks using a mastectomy bed or a reclining bed. Did they give you probiotics to help your stomach? Helped me a ton. Also a mastectomy pillow helps re animals and kids-do you have one?
No they didnt, I should’ve tried that!
The more information the better for better decisions I found when I had to make my breast cancer surgical and treatment decisions. Good work staying informed.
Did you have your oncotype dx test results?
I think you look cute as with the short hair! You should see what I look like with my super short chemo curls, aka nana perm. 😭 Some people can rock short locks (ie, Samantha!) and others just look like an old lesbian (ie,me). 😭😭
Or baba
Martha ???
What the actual...?? I can't believe someone actually had the audacity to say that! 🤯 You are beautiful inside and out Samantha!
No matter what a person says about your hair! You look beautiful with both long and short hair. Samantha, do you want long hair again?
Virginia has great cancer care. Glad you are moving back to a VA oncologist! Never hesitate to get imaging. Best wishes on your journey. ❤
Wow! I’m almost speechless that despite what you’ve been going through, someone had to make a comment about the length of your hair. My question to that rude commenter is, “Who asked you?” My comment, Get yourself a whole life!
You’re such an amazing young woman! You didn’t ask for any of this but you have been a trooper and an inspiration to so many including me ❤
Unbelievable how dumb and mean people can be. ❤❤❤
Are you kidding me!!!! You can say something so uncaring, do you know what this girl has been through and is still going through, Maybe God will punish you and your hair will fall out and I guarantee she is a hell of a lot more beautiful than you are. The audacity of people, I’m so sorry Samantha, you are as beautiful as always and I’ve been here since the beginning of your journey. I will pray for the sad ass person that made that pathetic comment, love, hugs and prayers to you sweetie✝️🥰🎀🙏🏼🌞🌸🦋🍼🩷🫶🏼☮️🧸💐🕊️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
How rude!!!! You look beautiful!!!!
Seriously? People like that are probably going to have serious early pattern baldness. Clearly, they are having the day they deserve-what a miserable person.
Samantha please don’t apologize to the thoughtless & rude person that made that comment!
Why blank their name out?? I mean its probably a fake one because their a coward....
If I leave the name in, then people will be more likely to be rude intentionally so I’ll make a video about them
Poor darling baby x what loss she will have to indure
I was just thinking on your last video how you rock the short hair look! 🤘
OMG!!!!!! WTH is wrong with people???? ! There’s always one or two flies that spoil the soup in life, aren’t there? I pity them.
The
Your hair is precious and you’re adorable
My hair is the same length of yours. I’m not a fan of it either! But there’s nothing we can do when we can’t choose a hairstyle!
You look beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I see many saying "dont apologize" but she isn't.She's not apologizing its a dig back & her smirk as she looks into the camera says it all & its the greatest 👍🤣
🤣
Aww Samantha!! So glad you at least have humour to deal with some people!! What do they think they are achieving by saying this. People are so random.
People are incredible.
PEOPLE REALLY ‼️‼️‼️‼️
Some people are just dolts….as proven with that comment. 😂
Omg. The fact that anyone would say that is just🤮
Don’t apologize for people’s stupidity and judgement. You’re beautiful no matter what
